Under the gate

my first legit environment painting...did this about a week ago for my portfolio module in school. 

pardon the messy brush strokes I'm trying to get the feel first XD

Environment is really tough, and I can't draw it at all without a reference XD (btw I took a photo of this sight when i went to Japan)
